Shopping Carts

A shopping cart is a vital tool in an e-commerce solution. While there are many many choices of shopping carts available (some integrated, some not) to get the most successful e-commerce solution your shopping cart must seamlessly integrate into your project, both to your clients and for your own management software. While it is possible for us to build a shopping cart to replace an existing one, we don't often do it.

It can be considerably more work to integrate a new system into an existing project, than it would be to build a whole new e-commerce solution.

For new websites, you can have a choice of shopping setups. We can build your site with its own shopping cart that is taken over to Paypal for payment, or you can have "buy now" buttons from Paypal which give the user the option to pay for their selection immediately. While for some sites this works wonderfully (ie: a software purchase, where you will only ever be buying one copy of an item) we are of the opinion that a shopping cart on your own site will encourage your customer to keep browsing while their selected item is in their basket. The pros and cons expense wise is minimal. The extra time taken in coding all your products with their own ID's for paypal ends up not a lot less than the expense of the shopping cart.
