If you consider a database to be a simple collection of information, many
everyday computer users have developed their own databases without
really knowing it. The contacts in your Outlook ® folder become
a database. The information you have collected & stored in an Excel ®
spreadsheet may be a database. But for commercial purposes a database requires
very specific software and even has its own language that your website needs to
use to communicate with it.
Imagine this: A database can be very similar to one of Dr Who's nemesis "The
Dalek". With a solid base, secure structure and well built communications it is
pretty much invicible. But who can remember the daleks handling stairs? They
couldn't, and a database that doesn't have all of those essential elements is
just about as effective as a Dalek on stairs. It will be unstable,
uncomunicative and hard to get back up if it falls over.
A poorly designed and built database can dramatically slow down your
website or program and/or return unwanted errors to the customer. It is of the
utmost importance that your database is designed to suit exactly your
requirements and that adequate testing and deployment is undertaken. We can

In most cases the data from your existing excell spreadsheets
or Access database records can be imported into your new database. This service
can be either specified in your quote or costed as an add on to your database.
